BUJAKA, my
first full album release is almost there, the songs are totally ready so I’d
only like to do some small changes for the mixing before uploading them. I wasn’t
completely satisfied about the master versions of my first two singles so they’re
also mastered once again for the album called Weights Like A Sin. The super
moon reminded me about releasing the songs so I take that as some sing – don’t
hold them, let it go! If you know what I mean…

This year
the Late Venice Fest was hold again in Lion’s mansion. The week was pretty
awesome because I was able to complete all the vocals for our upcoming GHS ep
but also finnish the proofreadings of Miika’s debut novel. And man, that’s
gonna be fuckin’ awesome book!!

Saturday
started with the final piano recs and about 4pm Jay and Matt came by to listen
the tapes. Soon we were already in Lion’s place and man, that night was again a
huge success. We played some songs with GHS but also with Modern Day Cowboys.
That night was the release day of Lion De La Vega & Vincenzo Olavi Duo’s
first single “Storm Raiders”.

Because
there were two bongo drummers playing, me and Matt in guitars and Lion as a
singer, we named that particular group as “Addicted To Crocodile Heroin Band”
for the future, hahaha. We also got a new drummer for our punk rock group from
the parties. A reggae artist that played there, had a girl drummer Katja so
Mike immediately figured – there’s a fuckin’ drummer for the band!

She came to
jam with us later the week to Mike’s office and we also asked her to play with
Modern Day Cowboys as well. For the next Saturday my dear friends had arranged
house warming parties in Birdcherry House of Oulu. What-a-fuckin apartment! Patu
from The Psycho Season was also there but he had to leave early so we headed to
Winger for the rest of the night with Miia, Mike, Jay, Matt and some of their
friends. Fuck yeah!

The first
weekend of September started with a gig at C & A Rock Wedding Party in
Kello. We brought all our stuff there during the night before and got to know a
great local band, Hazedays. The guys were there doing the soundcheck with us
and helped a lot with the pa systems and so on.

Next
morning I started watching the new original TV-series of Netflix called Narcos
(about Pablo Escobar) and almost missed the ride there. We started the show on
time and gotta say that it was almost the best gig with this group so far!
Later we played some Modern Day Cowboys’ songs with Rockberry and of course
partied until the morning light – Miia was also in a good mood because she was
able to get some good shots there after all the stress about photographing.

Wexx was
obviously too wasted to go anywhere so we dropped him to his house before
heading back to city. Late in the evening next day I called Miika and we
decided to head Lion’s mansion again for some barbeque and stuff. Guys roasted
some chickens and other meats but the evening culminated in some test drives we
made with our cars. Lion gave some heavy ride to my Mustang there on the narrow
streets and alleys of Nallikari, haha!

After
balancing on the edge of a flu for so long time, I finally got it and man, it
was bad! The only relief was the Tanduay Dark Rhum bottle which Larry brought
me from Philippines. Then I heard some sad news… One of my classmates and an
ex-promising-hockey-player Jani had passed away during his nightshift as a
bouncer all of a sudden because of some sudden attack. Also when I dropped by
the office, my boss collapsed and we had to call the ambulance so there was
enough medical records for one week.

The hockey
team of our town started their season from CHL and I bought two tickets from
the best places of the arena for me & Miia. We won but it was also super
cool to chat with Ati-Man, our trusted driver, and he asked us to spend some
time at his boat outside the town. We definitely have to do that in some point
before the winter arrives. After that we headed to Kuopio – Tiger, Margarita and
Mike were also in town but we skipped the parties with them and Hanne because I
was still having that fuckin’ flu.

We had to
re-arrange our training house in Hiukkavaara because Korina moved also to the
house. We’re also having hectic time there in the area because it works also as
a room for refugees all over the world. I’ve tried to clear the stress by for
example ordering a couple of new shoes from Zalando and having some billiard
matches and horse race betting with Andy and so on…

Well I was
driving to the bowling alley from our training house and it was raining like
hell – suddenly the lightning strikes so fuckin’ heavily in Tuira that my car
pumps up a bit. Andy had been driving like 200 meters ahead of me and he had
some headaches and conditions because of that strike.

Gone Girl (Obviously
you can get bored here before it starts happening after 40 minutes of watching.
But this one is delicately built crime drama about a missing wife and his
cheater-soon-becoming-ex-husband. In some point they realize that the girl isn’t
dead at all – she’d just like to have her revenge and put the guy behind bars.)
Inside
Llewin Davis (Personally I love American Folk Music a lot so this one delighted
me especially, it’s kinda iconic movie of Cohen Brothers, it’s symbolic and
also interesting journey of a folk singer travelling through States.
Must-watching for everyone!)
Mathew McConaghey usually doesn’t fail and there’s no exception here. It’s
about an American lawyer who gets a case about a rich kid murdering paid-women.
Obviously Americans are into these law dramas but so am I if they’re made to be
this thrilling. You won’t be disappointed!)
Luokkakokous
(Oh man, I’m ashamed to be a Finnish person after watching these kinds of
films. I guess it should have been a Finnish version of Hangover – the Hollywood
movie – but this is just full of lousy potty humour – I just had to stop
watching this after fuckin’ twenty minutes.)
Sense 8
(New Netflix-series nails it with the telepathic people who can experience each
other’s lives in live motion. I’ve been only watching this for two episodes but
seems promising! It’s kinda mixing of Heroes and Matrix if you know what I mean…)
The Fighter
(Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale are giving their best in this boxing drama
about a young fighter trying to grown to be better as his father and older
brother ever were. Unfortunately it gets more boring and boring right from the beginning
so it breaks my heart to say this but this one goes straight to the garbage
can.)
